We’ve heard it said that it’s better to give than to receive. It’s true. God looks for us to have hearts willing to give to others joyfully. He wants to give to us so He can give through us.
RELEVANCE
Years ago I gave a car to an individual. To my surprise, shortly thereafter that person gave the car to another person. I never understood why, but was okay with it. I just wanted to bless somebody I thought needed it. About twenty years later that person’s father asked if I was upset about the situation. I couldn’t believe he still had such thoughts.
God would have us give freely and receive freely; without pressure, resistance, guilt or shame. He has so much to give to us.
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).
REFLECT AND RELATE
Giving and receiving can be stressful. Ask God to measure your level of liberty is this area.
