Being Who You Are to Receive what God has Promised

Mankind is generally a performance based species. You are, therefore, typically defined by what you do. God has a different barometer. He defines you by who you are; who He created you to be. When you are who you were created to be, you will naturally do what you were ordained to do best.

RELEVANCE

We all aspire to be successful. How do you define, though, success? What’s your standard of measurement?

God calls His kind of success, good success. It’s a kind of success that bears fruit according to God’s purposes. How do you attain that kind of success? By observing to do what God has ordained and empowered you to do. God looks for us to do more than mere doing; but taking heed to His ways, being discerning and observant of His ways.

That is accomplished by allowing Him to train you in the gifts He has deposited within you. It comes by yielding to His Spirit working within you, observing His works and His ways. It requires being free on the inside; free from constraints that restrain you and hold you back from being who God created you to be.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8-9).

REFLECT AND RELATE

What constraints might be inhibiting your real growth in God and preventing advancement?
