The Bible says God made us in His image. What is “God’s image?” What does it really mean? Truly, it is a great mystery. The best we can perceive and interpret is that He created man in His likeness; with aspects of the likeness of His essence, His capacity.
We, therefore, have the capacity to express elements of His essence or nature. He wants you to seek Him with all your heart so He can reveal His nature in you so you can fully identify with Him.
RELEVANCE
God the Father sent the Son to reveal the Father’s heart and release the Holy Spirit in you so you may be able to relate and identify with the full nature of God. Christ, the Son, came in the fullness of the image of God in the form of a man so we could identify with Him. He is the standard of measure. He reflects the heart of the Father and ministry of the Holy Spirit. The more we learn of Him, the more we identify with the nature of God. That happens as we engage with God through His Word and Spirit.
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation” (Colossians 1:15).
REFLECT AND RELATE
We get to know people as we engage with them. Engage with God. Ask Him to reveal the fullness of His nature in a personal way:
- The creative nature of the Father
- The representative and redemptive nature of the Son
- The manifesting nature of the Holy Spirit
