How the Day of Deliverance Turns Depression into Joy

When we are in the presence of others who makes us happy, we are happy. Sorrow and depression flees…for the moment. What happens, though, when we are alone? Why does sorrow come back?

The truth is, the day of deliverance has not yet been fully realized. You have faith in salvation and know salvation is real, but await the reality of deliverance. Truly, something has to happen deep in the recesses of one’s soul to release the revelation of the LORD’s deliverance.

RELEVANCE

Jesus shared a story to reveal this truth and make it real. He then revealed how this truth would be sealed in the heart.

“Are you inquiring among yourselves about what I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me’? Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. And in that day you will (cautiously) ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask (in confidence) the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked (in confidence) nothing in My name. Ask (in confidence), and you will receive, that your joy may be full” (John 16:19-24).

God challenges us to diligently wait on Him and seek Him for rich nuggets of truth. When the day comes that this truth is birthed from deep within your soul, you will find yourself asking questions from a different perspective; one of real confidence and trust that the LORD will answer for your benefit. For, then He knows you will understand with greater clarity and be more able and ready to respond to what He may share and reveal.

REFLECT AND RELATE

Is there any truth you are afraid to find out?

What things do you fear happening if the deeper truth was to be revealed?

Do you not believe that the LORD has freely forgiven you of EVERY sin you could have committed?

Do you want to say “yes” to receive the Lord’s deliverance? If so, go ahead. All you have to do is seek Him and ask and find Him. His peace is near.
