Life isn’t always fun or easy. More often than not, it’s hectic and filled with challenges; sometimes painful! So we have to persevere. But if we call upon the LORD, keep our eyes on Him and abide in His Word, His Spirit is able to comfort us and give us hope.
RELEVANCE
God works in mysterious ways, often in silence. He usually sends people our way to affirm His truths. That’s why good fellowship is important. Be patient. He will give you a vision, and mark the journey with various forms of road markers, demarcations and end points. The key is being watchful and observant, listening intently as He speaks; whether it be through His Word, other people, open doors, dreams or His still small voice. That’s how His light pierces through the darkness and He reveals His glory, as His witness in our heart brings His peace.
“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you” (1 Peter 4:12-14).
REFLECT AND RELATE
Look back at past ways God has spoken to you and provided guidance. He doesn’t always work the same way, but challenges our faith to behold new things. Write down some ways He has moved in your life in a journal. Perhaps He will reveal some kind of a map; a path of life experiences you can see making sense; a path the LORD has been watching you through and helping you navigate. In that you will find joy as well. What pictures might you begin to see on the map?
