Some of us are extremely gifted and talented and success seems to come easy. If that is the case, it is wise to be humble and give God the glory; otherwise God reserves the right to reverse the tide of events and outcomes. For those of us with lesser abilities and/or those who know their limitations, God seeks to increase our capacity!
RELEVANCE
As we experience challenges of all sorts and from every side, God looks for us to tap into His capacity. He looks, likewise, for trusting faith—for us to be fully persuaded of His ability.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35-39).
Paul experienced much peril and hardship. He learned God uses weakness to perfect His strength. That’s where humility and gratefulness enlists God’s grace and power! “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
REFLECTAND RELATE
What factors might have you on the short end of the stick of experiencing God’s grace and strength? Ask God to reveal to you—as He did Paul—how His strength can be more manifested in you.
