Trusting in God’s Strength to Bear Much Fruit

When we are young, we have a lot of physical and mental strength. In fact, so much that God must fold His hands and watch us in amusement. At some point our strength fades; even feels like it is lingering. So we go on a nice vacation to cause it to catch up. Then we repeat the cycle. Better to call on the Lord for His continuing strength and have the Holy Spirit strengthen you. It may surprise you to experience God’s amazing strength; a capacity that will sustain you more than you think!

RELEVANCE

How well do we do trusting in our own strength? There is a thing called “burnout.” There is also a thing called “fruitfulness.” It comes through God’s strength and anointing.

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the LORD.
For he shall be like a shrub in the desert,
And shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
In a salt land which is not inhabited.

Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope is the LORD.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.”
(Jeremiah 17:5-8)

May the Lord strengthen you with His awesome strength that you bear much fruit!

REFLECT AND RELATE

At what point of the cycle are you? Ask God to reveal how you can increase your capacity in His strength. Pray this scripture into your spirit.
