Transformation Brings Maturity to Your Goals

When we are young we typically have many ambitious goals. Then we experience life, get a dose of wisdom and our thoughts mature. That’s not to say young people don’t have great ideas or the vision and passion to bring great inventions to fruition. They certainly do. It’s often the means to the ends, however, that need refocusing and wisdom from above. Without wisdom youthful drive can spin the wheels fast and furious yet in reality get nowhere; turning drive to drought.

“The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing” (Psalm 34:10-11).

RELEVANCE

When I was in high school many guys liked to drive the pedal to the metal. It always amazed me how they would race to a red light. It’s funny how we often do that in places besides the car…

We often praise zeal. Paul had a zeal for God. He was chief persecutor of new believers in Jesus as Messiah. One day he was stopped dead in his tracks by a blinding light and a voice from heaven saying, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting” (Acts 9:5). It changed his life. It set him on a course of transformation. Years later he wrote:

“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead” (Philippians 3:6-11).

REFLECT AND RELATE
