God looks for hearts faithful to Him. In and of ourselves, however, we are not worthy of His trust. He can only trust in us if we place our trust in Him. He trusts us as we demonstrate our dependency on Him. He is trustworthy. We demonstrate that we are trustworthy as we reflect His faithfulness by being faithful stewards of His grace.
RELEVANCE
In our humanity, we are all sinners. In His mercy, Christ redeemed us from our sinful nature so we could express His nature in and through us. That’s what being Christ-like is. As we trust Him, He can trust us as His representatives to represent His name.
“Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy,
To deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him.”
(Psalm 33:18-21)
