The Rewards of Trusting in God

After being burned a few times in life we learn to trust in God. He truly awaits us arriving at that conclusion. He waits like a father waiting for his teenager to come home in the late hours of the night. In gratefulness that your child—or young adult—is alive, you want to hug their neck and bless them with all your heart.

RELEVANCE

In my youthful years I used to jump in my car and ride for hours to find peace. No matter how far I went, it didn’t come. At 19 the LORD showed up on my path. I still didn’t come to faith until two years later. He was relentless to win my trusting faith. I can’t say that I have always been patient enough to demonstrate my trust in Him, but He has a way of proving Himself to be the One source of trust; the One source of light in a world of darkness.

“Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men!
You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence
From the plots of man;
You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion
From the strife of tongues.”
(Psalm 31:19-23)

“How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.
They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house,
And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures.
For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.”
(Psalm 36:7-9)

God truly is a refuge and source of strength and safety. When the world leaves you without a clue, or you feel like you’ve hit a wall, God reveals hidden solutions and ways where there is no way. He has a way of placing people in your path as well as new sources of resources.

REFLECT AND RELATE

Wherever you are right now, consider those you have trusted. None can compare to the LORD. None have the wisdom. None have the love. None have the resources. In the LORD you can trust.
