God seeks to build trusting faith in us so He can be glorified through us. As our trust in God and knowledge of God increases, we become free to express and reflect His glory outwardly. It truly comes by His grace and love working inside.
RELEVANCE
God’s glory reflects His nature. As His nature is love, He operates in the spirit of His love. God’s Spirit, therefore, enables us to love others with God’s kind of love. It enables us to forgive others of wrongs they have done to us; and to extend mercy to those we see fall short. It enables us to bury pride in conducting our affairs and engaging with others. It enables us to give to God and to others out of our own needs; to be honest and walk with integrity, sacrificing selfish gain and hidden agendas; and endure hostility and other forms of suffering in patience, awaiting God’s victory.
His glory is also reflected in His wisdom. As we pursue His wisdom and exercise trusting faith, His Spirit empowers the gift of discernment, which enables us to receive truth and make tough decisions that will glorify Him. His glory is, therefore, reflected as we allow the Holy Spirit living in us the freedom to express His gifts deposited within us in the fullness of the manners in which He operates. As the word declares, “the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17).
What accrues to us as we seek God and His glory? Paul spoke on this. “To those who seek glory, honor and immortality by perseverance in doing good, he will pay back eternal life” (Romans 2:7 JNT).
