God continuously seeks to grow our faith and character so we may reflect greater measures of His glory. As the apostle, Paul, said “we are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another” (2 Corinthians 3:19 AMPLIFIED). What will it take to experience His glory?
RELEVANCE
Contrary to what we would like to believe, God grows our faith and character through trials. It stands to reason, then, the greater the glory the greater the trials! We experience the greater glory as we persevere and press through the trials to overcome in His strength. Then He gets the glory. Therefore, rather than losing hope by focusing on the weight of affliction, we have the opportunity to keep our eyes on the LORD and His greater purposes—the far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory!
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).
REFLECT AND RELATE
What burdens are weighing you down?
Place those burdens at the foot of the Cross. Then take up the LORD’s yoke, which is easy, and His burden light.
