Making Great Exchanges to Advance Forward in God

As the LORD reveals more about His nature and ways, and continues to fill and renew us with His Spirit, we can’t help but want to reflect His ways; unless we stop growing in Him. Always desire to know what your next step in the LORD is. Ask God. He will be faithful to reveal that to you if you keep pressing into Him and allow Him to fill you deeper inside. Paul spoke much about this. “And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18 AMPLIFIED).

RELEVANCE

As much as you put on new garments every day, you have the opportunity to put on Christ and reflect new virtues, new aspects of His nature and character. He may even give you a new assignment, task, mission or even vision.

“But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:20-24).

Truly, life with Christ in the Holy Spirit is about being sensitive to changes the LORD is looking for us to make. It’s about making an exchange: His life for ours; His ways for ours.

REFLECT AND RELATE

Spending time with the LORD each morning is a great way to be refreshed and renewed in the spirit of your mind. Ask God for His assignment of the day. He might surprise—and reward—you. What might the Holy Spirit be speaking to you about now?
