Living Under Freedom’s Ultimate Law

Living in faith in the Lord and Messiah, Yeshua—Jesus Christ, believers are reconciled by His blood and redeemed from the curse of the law “that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” (Galatians 3:14). He sacrificed His life to deliver you from the bondage of sin and its consequences—putting you under its operative power of the “law of sin and death” so you could live free in His grace under the operative power of the “law of the Spirit.” Paul explained this further.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:1-2).

The operative power of the law of sin and death stimulates sin and the guilt it produces. The operative power of the Spirit provides the grace that enables you to resist temptation to sin and stimulates obedience to God.

Living free from the guilt of sin truly transfers you into a new realm! When you receive the liberty of the Spirit you are transferred from the realm of guilt and condemnation to the realm of grace and freedom in the Spirit. It produces true inner peace; God’s witness and signature.

RELEVANCE

Our biggest challenge is yielding to the Holy Spirit and RESISTING the powers of darkness that try to compel us to lean towards our fleshly inclinations and satisfy carnal desires to disqualify us from the operative powers of the law of the Spirit. When we do give into our weaknesses—lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life—is brings guilt upon us, and puts us under the operative power and consequences of the law of sin; which ultimately leads to spiritual death.

Repentance—the purposeful, active turning back towards righteousness— restores the operative powers of the law of grace—the liberty of God’s Spirit—to be effective and bear fruit in your life.
