God has promises reserved for all. He demonstrated His ways through the testimony of the children of Israel. He brought them out of bondage, through the wilderness and into the Promised Land to illustrate His ways of relating with mankind.
Joshua, one of two (Caleb the other) who survived the entire journey learned God’s truths. He witnessed truth. Even after the doubting spies reported of the giants in the land, Joshua bore witness inside of God’s deeper truth: “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30). After experiencing God’s triumph in the land He was in a position to declare that the way to success in life is to worship and serve God in integrity and truth.
“Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and inEgypt” (Joshua 24:14).
RELEVANCE
As we seek God He is faithful to lead us in the paths of truth. Even in failure, He has mercy and brings us to truth so He can bless us. In foolishness man may claims victories. A wise and humble person will acknowledge and submit to the leading of the LORD, who marks the paths of life and makes the way manifest His greater truths.
“Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Yes, the LORD will give what is good;
And our land will yield its increase.
Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.”
(Psalm 85:10-13)
