The psalmist gave us a great word picture: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). I often think of Jonah, how he purposefully held God’s initial instruction to go to Nineva in contempt and fled in another direction. God was sure to intervene and re-direct his path. Jonah was fortunate. God made it evident He was not pleased with Jonah’s initial response. But when Jonah did repent, God had tremendous mercy, and His grace brought him right where he needed to be to fulfill the mission. He then experienced an incredible revival. Jonah provides a testimony of how when we do see the light and respond, awesome things are possible!
