The world will lie to you. It will cause you to lose hope in truth. Once you lose hope in truth, you lose your ability to trust. And if you can’t trust, you can’t have faith; for faith is trust—trusting in God’s faithfulness. God is in the business of restoring hope and faith; for He is faithful. It’s His name: El Emunah—God of Faithfulness. In what area do you need to see His faithfulness and truth demonstrated?
RELEVANCE
Some time after my mother had died when I was a boy, I was fed a lie. I was told that her sister, my aunt (and my cousins who I saw frequently) didn’t love me, but were my enemies. We moved away never to see them again…until God intervened 10 years later. Then I learned the truth. The love of God conquered my fears and my distress. I may have experienced a gap in love, but couldn’t be separated from His love for ever. I soon learned of the faithfulness and love of the LORD.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter’.Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35-39).
