God has plans and purposes to be realized for those who seek Him, relate with Him and desire to be a source of blessing not for themselves, but for others. How can we be encouraged in this truth?
“Who are those who fear the Lord?
He will show them the path they should choose.
They will live in prosperity,
and their children will inherit the land.”
(Psalm 25:12-13 NLT)
“Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.”
(Psalm 37:5)
RELEVANCE
The Bible tells two key stories of people who set an example of how God can bless and use people faithful to His causes: Isaac and Joseph.
Abraham had passed on his authority and stewardship of the community resources to his son Isaac. Though he encountered great trials, God blessed him in His faithfulness.
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous” (Genesis 26:12-14).
Joseph was sold by his brothers to be a slave in Egypt. His faithfulness towards God was used against him, but God turned his situation to good and through him, blessed the entire nation and beyond.
“The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph’s authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper” (Genesis 39:23).
REFLECT AND RELATE
Ask God how you can bless others; better yet, ask for a vision—how you can be used by Him to bless many. Be faithful to Him, and He will advance is purposes forward.
