Facing the Reality of the Kingdom of God

Jesus stepped into the limelight one day preaching a message that changed the world, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand” (Mark 1:15). About 500 years earlier, Daniel had spoken of a time when Messiah would establish His Kingdom. That message was delivered during the Babylonian captivity in the context of a theme Daniel had been emphasizing in the king’s court: “the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.” How much do we believe that the Lord truly rules over the earth? What new order did the Lord invoke?

Messiah Jesus came to establish the kingdom of God in the earth. He set within mankind a new order. He revealed the heart of Father God and released the power of the Holy Spirit to dwell in and anoint believers to do the work of the Kingdom. Truly, He challenged people to believe in Him, receive His grace gifts and represent His Kingdom.

RELEVANCE

By placing trusting faith in His righteousness you would receive greater measures of grace and new capacities from God through the Holy Spirit.

“I tell you that whoever trusts in me will also do the works I do! Indeed, he will do greater ones, because I am going to the Father. In fact, whatever you ask for in my name, I will do; so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me for something in my name, I will do it. If you love me, you will keep my commands; and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another comforting Counselor like me, the Spirit of Truth, to be with you forever. The world cannot receive him, because it neither sees nor knows him. You know him, because he is staying with you and will be united with you” (John 14:12-17 JNT).

Paul encouraged believers to connect with this greater capacity; God’s endowment to those who will place resolute trust in the Lord.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Romans 5:1-2).

REFLECT AND RELATE

Flowing in greater measures of God’s capacity requires being set free of constraints. Ask God to reveal to you the constraints restraining greater measures of His grace in your midst.
