Sanctification is a process whereby you are continuously immersed in Christ and set apart unto God for the Holy Spirit’s operatives. Your world view changes as God shapes your focus and you see more and more His perspective. This was what the LORD specifically asked of the Father before He was crucified.
“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth” (John 17:17-19).
RELEVANCE
God wants you to grow more and more and experience real transformation of His Spirit. As He fills you with His Spirit, He imparts greater measures of His nature, manifesting and reflecting more and more of His glory in and through you. This is what Paul referred to “ being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). He, therefore, provided more encouragement to help believers grow in this truth.
“Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 4:1-8).
REFLECT AND RELATE
Write down things God has brought you through and how you have grown through those experiences. Ask Him to show you a pattern of how He is bringing you through His sanctification process.
