Experiencing Grace and Victory through a Congruent Walk in the LORD

One of God’s purposes for allowing us to walk in the victory of Christ is to strengthen and mature us in Christ. God seeks to bring our character and nature into congruency– a multidimensional alignment– with Christ. He does this so we can advance in the stature of Christ and participate in great battles that will glorify Him.

RELEVANCE

Congruency is important because it measures our integrity, or state of wholeness in Christ. The more we are congruent with Christ, the more our character corresponds and lines up with His. Congruency after all, is about two coming into alignment; specifically a copy reflecting the one modeled. This in essence is what being like Christ is all about. It relates to how God sees us; how our inner spirit aligns with His Holy Spirit. It also relates to how open and willing our conscience is to aligning with God’s ways and will.

As we grow in trusting faith and character, we become less double-minded and more congruent or in sync with the LORD. This is why Elijah brought up the issue of being of two opinions; and James explained how being double-minded restrains God from answering prayers. Being imperfect beings, through GRACE, however, the LORD showers us with LOVINGKINDNESS and covers us with MERCY!

As we mature in Christ the Holy Spirit strengthens our vision, bringing what was obscure to clarity, and what seemed so complex to simplicity. He brings our values into alignment with His. When our values are congruent with God’s, we see things we never saw before! The Holy Spirit imparts new measures of the virtue of Christ; His character and power, producing the fruit of the Spirit. Through grace, God’s works His process of transformation within us, enabling us to represent Him and walk with Him in glory.
