Being Set Free from Condemnation Gives You Confidence

While we know Christ died for our sins and has freed us from the bondage of guilt and condemnation, the enemy of our soul, the devil, loves to take words people say and turn them against us to cause us to feel condemned.

No matter what anyone can say, you have been FULLY DISCHARGED from the debt to sin and FULLY ACQUITTED from the guilt of the effects of sin. Christ’s blood sacrifice has granted you GRACE. It’s yours to seize hold of and be encouraged in!

RELEVANCE

Reality is the warrant against you listing your punishment has been destroyed! There is NO BASIS of condemnation if the requirements of punishment have been wiped away! You’ve been granted GRACE. God merely requires repentance—turning back to His way of righteousness—and receiving the gift of Christ’s substituted punishment that He has already suffered in your place. In receiving His grace you grow in strength and confidence in Him.

“In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:11-15).
