God sees His people as carriers of His light—the anointing of the Holy Spirit. He, therefore, encourages us to receive and walk in new light He has to pour upon us. Sometimes, however, we need to arise from where we are to receive and walk in new rays of His light.
Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1)
I am the light of the world. (John 9:5)
RELEVANCE
We all go through a variety of seasons in our walk with the Lord. During some seasons we may feel like life has stalled or we are stuck in stagnation. In others we experience great strengthening, revival and growth. It’s part of the working out of our salvation (Philippians 2:12-13) and growing in the “knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ” (Ephesians 4:13 NLT).
The good news is God sees our potential. He knows the gifts with which He has endowed us. He also knows the calling He has placed upon us. He, likewise, knows the business sectors, ministries, geographic fields and areas of influence in which we are gifted to serve and be faithful stewards. He also knows the preparation we must go through and lessons we must learn to prosper in the various places in which He has called us to serve and for the appointed times of life.
There are specific times, however, when we need a significant stimulus to activate His gifts because He has plans for us! We may see some signs or may not have any clues of His plans unfolding in the way we need to see it. The Holy Spirit, though, is faithful to prompt us to arise. Sometimes, however, we need a wake-up call!
Awake, awake!
Put on your strength, O Zion;
Put on your beautiful garments…
(Isaiah 52:1)
Wherever you are, friend, receive God’s light and strength arising and shining upon you. It’s a new day with new promises and new tools to do kingdom of God business—for His glory. Be encouraged to receive His strength and new light for a new day dawning.
REFLECT AND RELATE
What promises has God given you that seem remote?
What paths has He led you through to teach you skills and give you knowledge?
What people has He brought to you to glean from them wisdom you needed to gain?
