Throughout life we gain and lose friends. Sometimes our losses bring much pain of heart. Life is a journey of relationships. Our biggest one is with God. He, in fact, wants to be in the center of our relationships. The stronger our relationship is with God, the stronger, more meaningful and more impactful our relationships will be with others.
RELEVANCE
God chose to engage with the Hebrew people for a special purpose; to reveal His name, His love, His ways and covenant with mankind. He promised a host of blessings, including a relationship and His presence. Yet over the years the people rejected Him and had difficulty remaining faithful. Still, He promised restoration of the relationship.
“I will betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me
In righteousness and justice,
In lovingkindness and mercy;
I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness,
And you shall know the LORD.”
(Hosea 2:19-20)
God has remained faithful to Israel. He has brought the people back to the land. He has brought many people to faith in Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ. Regardless of what the world may think, there is a God, and He is faithful to restore relationships with Him. He asks for our faithfulness in return; and that we get to know Him.
As far as our relationships with people go, as you seek such restoration, pray for people to learn of God and come to know God more intimately. The closer He is to the center of a relationship, the more real and enduring that relationship will be.
REFLECT AND RELATE
For what relationships are you seeking restoration? Pray for them to come into alignment with God’s will.
