As a new creation in Christ you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk in great measures of His capacity through the various gifts and endowments of the Holy Spirit. It takes, however, overcoming some natural barriers and blockages.
One is the self will. When we assert our self-will, we deny God the opportunity to work on our behalf; in essence restraining God’s capacity in us. God wants to be our source of strength. As we value God’s capacity and trust Him we receive His manifold grace manifesting His solutions. This puts God on the throne; not self.
RELEVANCE
Real transformation occurs as we truly surrender aspects of our human nature to the nature of the life of the Holy Spirit. As we do this, we allow the power of the risen LORD to arise within, transforming the mind, bringing it into greater alignment with the mind of the LORD. This is how our capacity in Christ grows. This was one of Paul’s greatest messages. He had a passion to be found in the LORD, and to “know Him and the power of His resurrection” (Philippians 3:8-11).
REFLECT AND RELATE
Ask God to reveal aspects of your human nature He wants to replace with the nature of Christ through the Holy Spirit. As He does, He will also supply the grace to grow that virtue.
