Living in the Freedom of Grace

God wants you to live FREE IN HIS GRACE! But beware, God’s adversary, the devil, works with opposing powers through the dominant venues of the world to trap you in his territory; the realm of sin.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you” (1 Peter 5:8-11).

RELEVANCE

In one sense God works in a manner like chiropractors: He brings us into alignment and fixes our posture so we can move about freely without pain. Staying in right alignment is our greatest challenge. Keeping our hearts free to serve others in love is the easiest way to maintain proper alignment.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage….For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another” (Galatians 5:1-14).

REFLECT AND RELATE

In order to get and stay fit and build muscles, you lift weights. It’s called resistance training. What exercises do you think you can engage in to help you resist the forces of darkness more effectively?

Once you identify your exercise regimen—which should include some amount of regular Bible reading, fellowship with strong believers and actively participating in other uplifting faith-stimulating activities, keep a journal recording the thoughts God deposits.
